On Assignment: Sherman, Texas-Day Two

After a day chok full of Texas-sized thunderstorms, the sun somewhat broke free from the clouds for a couple of minutes. Just my luck, I am out in the middle of nowhere checking on the direction a building is facing so I know when the sun will shine on it. There was nothing around... or so I thought.

I look over in this vast field beside me that seemed to never end. Standing there, all alone and weathered from the scorching Texas heat, I saw the lonliest tree in Texas. In its battered and worn down state, I thought it was beautiful. I popped out the Canon and rolled the passenger side window down and clicked a few frames. You know, I felt like those frames actually meant something to me. I can't put my finger on just what it was, but it felt wholesome and even a little stirring inside me.

I didn't get to shoot much today, but I think the assignments I completed were pretty golden. And now, lonely ol' me has my own lonely ol' tree to share it with! Once again, my camera was the one by my side. She doesn't fight or complain. She acts a little jittery in her old age every now and again, but for the most part, she is pretty good to me. I love her. She is my companion, and we were able to share a moment in time with this lonely ol' tree.
